It is studied an effect of the surface chemistry variation of the active carbon on the parameters of the equilibrium adsorption of the fulvic acids from their aqueous solutions on the carbon in the presence of hydrogen peroxide. A
capability of the multicomponent approach to describe the adsorption equilibrium through use at least two hypothetical components in the Freundlich’s equation has been considered. The concepts as to “conditional component” have been offered to apply for the quantitative assessment of an adsorbability from the multicomponent mixture of the organic substances. An effectiveness of adsorption on the active carbon is shown to increase substantially at introducing the hydrogen peroxide in the solution of fulvic acids, and this due to the catalytic
oxidation effect of the organic matter. This effect is the most effective at the higher pH values, where the carbon particles are in the isoelectric state.
